Drinking Water

Pure water, safe life
UVL - Low pressure UV UVM - Medium pressure UV Ozone AOP

Advanced Lifetech technologies, such as ozone systems and advanced oxidation processes (AOP), are used for drinking water treatment. The combination of ozone and UV radiation generates hydroxyl radicals with an exceptionally high oxidation potential, enabling rapid and effective disinfection.

Case Study: Veolia Water, Bochnia, Poland

Extension and modernization of the Veolia Water drinking water treatment plant in
Ozone is used for pre-ozonation and main disinfection.

In 2005, laboratory and pilot studies on drinking water resources contaminated by triazine pesticides have been done by LIFETECH for Veolia Water.

To decrease the concentrations of about 180ng/l atrazine, 350ng/l desethylatrazine, and 150ng/l simazine, rapid and highly efficient LifeOX® Advanced Oxidation Process was developed. In 2008, our technology treating 3.6l/s was installed at Vaclavi Water Treatment Plant in cooperation with Culligan. After putting into service, the pesticide concentrations in the treated water dropped bellow 10ng/l (see the graph bellow). The concentration of bromates, a potential byproduct of the oxidation processes, is kept under 54g/l.

Further successful pilot study has been done on two potential drinking water resources, 12.5l/s each, highly contaminated with atrazine and terbutylazine.

Wastewater

Efficient wastewater management
AOP

In wastewater treatment plants (WWTP), contaminated water from households, municipalities, and some industrial facilities is treated to a quality that allows its safe discharge into the environment. Lifetech offers advanced technologies that enhance the efficiency of these processes:

Ozone Systems
Lifetech ozone generators are ideal for removing odors, colors, and biological contaminants.

Advanced Oxidation Processes (AOP)
Combining ozone and UV radiation produces hydroxyl radicals, which break down even hard-to-degrade substances such as pesticides, pharmaceutical residues, and other micropollutants.

UV Systems
Lifetech UV lamps are used to disinfect treated water, eliminating residual bacteria, viruses, and parasites before it is discharged into watercourses.

Case Study: SPOLANA a.s., Neratovice, Czech Republic

Advanced Oxidation Process (AOP) for removal of dioxins and furans (PCDD/F), chlorophenols and other contaminants from the BCD process wastewater.

Treatment of wastewater contamined with dioxins

In 2004-2005 LIFETECH’s laboratory worked out an advanced oxidation process (AOP) for removal of dioxins and furans (PCDD/F), chlorophenols and other contaminants from the BCD process wastewater. Consequently, our technology was installed and from April 2006 successfully used in the “Spolana-Dioxins” Project at SPOLANA a.s. in Neratovice, Czech Republic, as a part of Special Wastewater Treatment Plant. Our supply consisted of an ozone generator with the output of 5 kg O3/h at 10% w/w ozone concentration, two reaction tanks with mixing systems, a vent ozone destructor, and a control system. The world’s largest project for removal of PCDD/F was managed by BCD CZ a.s., a subsidiary of Thermal and Chemical Soil Remediation Ltd.

Disinfection of Cooling Emulsions and Cutting Fluids

Performance through purity
AOP

Cooling emulsions and cutting fluids are essential in industrial production for cooling, lubrication, and extending the lifespan of machinery. However, prolonged use makes these fluids susceptible to contamination by microorganisms such as bacteria, fungi, and yeasts, leading to reduced efficiency, unpleasant odors, and potential health risks for employees.

How does Lifetech help?
Lifetech offers modern solutions for disinfecting cooling emulsions and cutting fluids, extending their lifespan and improving efficiency:

UV Disinfection
Lifetech UV systems use ultraviolet radiation to destroy microorganisms by disrupting their DNA. UV radiation effectively eliminates bacteria, viruses, and fungi without altering the composition or properties of the fluids. The benefits include rapid disinfection without chemicals and easy integration into existing systems.

Ozonation
Ozone, as a powerful oxidizing agent, destroys microorganisms and breaks down organic impurities that can cause odors and fluid degradation. Lifetech ozone systems ensure uniform ozone dosing, effectively disinfecting fluids and pipeline systems.

Prevention of Microbial Growth
Lifetech technologies not only disinfect contaminated fluids but also prevent further microbial growth, reducing the frequency of fluid replacement and minimizing production downtime.

Reduction of Operating Costs
By extending the lifespan of cooling emulsions and cutting fluids, Lifetech technologies significantly reduce costs associated with fluid replacement, disposal, and purchasing new fluids. They also contribute to a safer working environment by eliminating odors and harmful microorganisms.

Eco-Friendly Solutions
Lifetech UV and ozone systems minimize the need for chemical disinfectants, supporting environmental protection and compliance with strict industrial standards.
