AOP (advanced oxidation process)
The high oxidation potential of ozone can be significantly increased by combining it with UV radiation. This method is known as advanced oxidation or UV oxidation. LIFETECH has developed its own LifeOX® technology based on optimised synergy between ozone and UV radiation.
AOP systems utilize hydroxyl radicals (OH-), known for their exceptional oxidation potential, to effectively eliminate organic pollutants, trichloramine, pathogens, and total organic carbon (TOC). Lifetech’s LifeOX® AOP technology ensures healthier water quality for pools, industrial water, and wastewater treatment. These scalable systems reduce chemical dependency and operational costs while addressing TOC contamination, making them a sustainable and eco-friendly solution for modern water treatment needs.
It removes everything necessary from the water, including trichloramine. Use in fresh and salt water applications.

How AOP Works in a Pool
Advanced Oxidation Processes (AOP) combine ozone and UV light to produce hydroxyl radicals, which have an exceptionally high oxidation potential. These radicals break down organic pollutants, trichloramine, and microorganisms in the pool water. The AOP reactor is installed in the circulation system, often after filtration, to ensure thorough treatment. This process reduces chemical usage, improves water clarity, and eliminates odors.
LifeAGE® saves up to 50% of energy costs.
LifeAGE® is an advanced power management technology developed by Lifetech for medium-pressure UV systems. It optimizes the energy transfer from the power supply to the UV lamps, significantly enhancing their efficiency and extending their lifespan to 13,000–18,000 operating hours.
The technology also allows for automatic adjustment of UV lamp output based on the water quality and pollution levels. This ensures that the system only uses the necessary amount of energy, reducing operating costs and maintaining consistent performance throughout the lamp’s lifespan. LifeAGE® not only minimizes energy consumption but also reduces the environmental impact by lowering the frequency of lamp replacements and transportation needs.

What is a healthy pool? Chemical-free technology. Minimizing the chemicals in the water plus reduction of monthly costs.
Trichloramine is a toxic substance that forms when chlorine reacts with nitrogen-containing compounds such as sweat, body oils, and urine from swimmers. Its presence poses significant health risks, including eye irritation, coughing, difficulty breathing, and disruption of the upper respiratory tract epithelium. Prolonged exposure can lead to asthma, allergies, and skin irritation, causing premature aging. By reducing the use of chlorine, these risks are minimized, creating a healthier environment while also lowering monthly pool maintenance costs.
Technologies like medium-pressure UV, AOP, and ozone systems effectively remove trichloramine and reduce chlorine use. Medium-pressure UV breaks down trichloramine, AOP combines ozone and UV for advanced oxidation, and ozone systems oxidize pollutants, ensuring cleaner water with less chemical dependency.
