UVM – Medium pressure UV
Medium-pressure UV lamps operate on the broad-spectrum radiation principle, spanning from 200 to 600 nm. This broad range of wavelengths enhances their effectiveness by increasing the number of pathogens they can target. Furthermore, this broad-spectrum UV radiation permanently disrupts the DNA of microorganisms, preventing any possibility of DNA repair and reactivation.
Lifetech’s UVM systems, enhanced with LifeAGE® technology, excel in both water disinfection and trichloramine removal, ensuring healthier and odor-free pool environments. By extending UV lamp lifespans to up to 18,000 hours and optimizing energy consumption, these systems deliver consistent water quality while reducing chlorine usage. Their ability to prevent microorganism reactivation makes UVM systems an ideal choice for public and private pools, offering long-term reliability and improved swimmer comfort.
It removes everything necessary from the water, including trichloramine. Use in fresh and salt water applications.

How UVM Works in a Pool
The medium-pressure UV reactor is installed in the pool’s circulation system, typically after the filtration unit. As water flows through the reactor, the broad-spectrum UV light disinfects it by destroying microorganisms and breaking down harmful trichloramine. This process reduces chemical dependency, improves water quality, and minimizes odors, providing a healthier environment for swimmers.
LifeAGE® saves up to 50% of energy costs.
LifeAGE® is an advanced power management technology developed by Lifetech for medium-pressure UV systems. It optimizes the energy transfer from the power supply to the UV lamps, significantly enhancing their efficiency and extending their lifespan to 13,000–18,000 operating hours.
The technology also allows for automatic adjustment of UV lamp output based on the water quality and pollution levels. This ensures that the system only uses the necessary amount of energy, reducing operating costs and maintaining consistent performance throughout the lamp’s lifespan. LifeAGE® not only minimizes energy consumption but also reduces the environmental impact by lowering the frequency of lamp replacements and transportation needs.
What is a healthy pool? Chemical-free technology. Minimizing the chemicals in the water plus reduction of monthly costs.
Trichloramine is a toxic substance that forms when chlorine reacts with nitrogen-containing compounds such as sweat, body oils, and urine from swimmers. Its presence poses significant health risks, including eye irritation, coughing, difficulty breathing, and disruption of the upper respiratory tract epithelium. Prolonged exposure can lead to asthma, allergies, and skin irritation, causing premature aging. By reducing the use of chlorine, these risks are minimized, creating a healthier environment while also lowering monthly pool maintenance costs.
Technologies like medium-pressure UV, AOP, and ozone systems effectively remove trichloramine and reduce chlorine use. Medium-pressure UV breaks down trichloramine, AOP combines ozone and UV for advanced oxidation, and ozone systems oxidize pollutants, ensuring cleaner water with less chemical dependency.
